Abstract:
With the interest in connectivity and particularly Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technology emerging in the automotive industry, optimized integration and testing of V2X becomes a key differentiator for car manufacturers. Traditional drive tests require multiple test vehicles, road infrastructure and integrated hardware and software to ensure data collection. In contrast, virtual test drive (VTD) simulation could save thousand hours of physical test drive. It can be performed in a purely virtual environment, which is repeatable and can be used to support antenna selection, package location studies and system performance analysis. In this paper, a V2X VTD test scenario is created to reproduce a physical test drive and demonstrates a high level of correlation.
