A Multi-Band Efficient Metamaterial Absorber for Millimeter-Wave Band WBAN Applications

This paper introduces a highly effective, multi-layered metamaterial-based absorber that operates across numerous millimeter-wave bands for wireless body area network applications. The absorber was created from a single unit cell that was transformed into a metasurface array. The introduction of metallic vias results in the creation of multiple frequency bands and maximum absorption. The metamaterial exhibits double-negative material properties and has maximum absorption rates of 0.98, 0.99, and 0.94 at 28 GHz, 36.64 GHz, and 39 GHz, respectively.
