A Simple Closed-Form Model for the Pattern of Commercial Massive MIMO Antennas

In this contribution, we present a simple closed-form model for the pattern of Massive MIMO antennas. The main advantage of the proposed model, with respect to other models employed in the literature, such as the 3GPP model, is that it can efficiently predict the position of the sidelobes and the variation of the pattern parameters with scanning or the variation of frequency. Some comparisons with the patterns of commercially available antennas validate the proposed approach.
