Circularly Polarized Plane Metaantenna for Beam-Steering in the Elevation Plane

This paper presents a circularly polarized (CP) plane antenna, which is composed of four metalines for beam-steering in the elevation plane. The design process for the metalines is discussed and CP beam-steering across an elevation angle range from -20 (deg.) to 40 (deg.) is realized, according to design. Scanning is performed by selecting which of the metalines is fed using on-off switching circuits connected to the metalines.
