Impact of the BOPPPS Model Integrated with Game Elements on Learning Effect in Information Technology Courses for Junior Students

In the information technology course, students do not actively participate in the class, so this study designed learning activities based on the BOPPPS model integrated with game elements. To verify the effectiveness of this model, we conducted a quasi-experiment with a sample of 86 junior students in two classes. The results showed that the experimental group with the BOPPPS model integrated with game elements was superior to the control group with the traditional teaching model in terms of knowledge, learning engagement and self-efficacy. Therefore, in information technology courses, the BOPPPS model integrated with game elements could be useful to improve the learning effect of students.
