Effects of Online Entertainment Modes and Duration on College Students’ Online Learning Burnout

Online learning burnout is an important factor affecting the quality of online learning and mental health of college students. Current research shows that online learning burnout is closely related to college students’ online entertainment modes (games, short videos, hit series and public opinion hot spots) and online entertainment duration. However, how online entertainment modes and duration affect online learning burnout of college students remains unknown. Therefore, this research explores the differences of online learning burnout among college students with different online entertainment modes and duration using difference analysis. The regression analysis is used to further explore the impact of online entertainment modes and duration on online learning burnout of college students. The results of this research shows that: (1) There are significant differences in college students’ online learning burnout between online entertainment modes. Specifically, “games” group is higher than the “public opinion hot spots” group, and the “short videos” group is higher than the “public opinion hot spots” group; (2) Online entertainment duration has a significant positive predictive effect on online learning burnout. The influence of online entertainment modes on college students’ online learning burnout is in the following order: “short videos”, “games”, “hit series”, “public opinion hot spots”.
