Bit-Level Informed Dynamic Scheduling for Decoding Non-binary LDPC Codes

Non-Binary Low-Density Parity-Check (NB-LDPC)codes have excellent error rate performance, which outperform their binary counterpart for short and moderate code length. In this work, we propose the first bit-level informed dynamic scheduling decoding algorithm for NB-LDPC codes in binary field. The simulation results show that the proposed decoding algorithm can provide about 1.2 dB gain compared to the state-of-the-art adaptive full bit-reliability-based algorithm (FBRBA). Moreover, the performance can be close to the symbol-based extended min-sum (EMS) decoding algorithm.
