Flashlamp-pumped YAG:Nd+3laser action at kilohertz rates

Laser action at high repetition rates with flashlamp pumping has been achieved in a YAG:Nd
³⁺
laser rod. With the resonant charging techniques used in the experiments, the repetition rate is limited by the heating of the laser rod.
