Comparative Analysis of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive Controllers for Electric Vehicles

This paper offers a thorough investigation into control techniques tailored for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives for electric vehicles (EVs). Various control strategies including field-oriented control (FOC), direct torque control (DTC), and model predictive control (MPC) are analysed to evaluate their effectiveness in managing the dynamic response, torque generation, and overall efficiency for PMSM-based EV motor drive systems.
