Design and Development of Ground Station Receiver for CubeSat using LoRa Module

This paper deals with the design and development of Ground Station Receiver for CubeSat using LoRa. Development of Ground Station for satellite communication using TinyGS with a LoRa module of 433 MHz. The proposed antenna is designed by using a coaxial wire. The antenna is designed at an operating frequency of 433 MHz. Quarter Wave Monopole Antenna of 433 MHz is designed by using formulas and for specific length obtained. Further, the designed antenna is connected to the SMA connector later it is tested using VNA. TinyGS software is used in Base Station Development. TinyGS is configured using LoRa which enables long-range communication. TinyGS is downloaded by using its basic settings i.e., Username and Password, MQTT broker, and Personal BOT. Further Low Noise Amplifier of 433 MHz is designed using EM tools to amplify the signals from the receiver. LNA is designed by using some of the topologies like capacitors, inductors, transistors, resistors, etc. Later the designed antenna is integrated with LoRa of 433 MHz and configured TinyGS will locate the CubeSat located in Lower Earth Orbit within the range of the antenna’s reception. Further, the Base Station will receive the data packets and the created base station will be displayed on the TinyGS web page.
