Comparative Analysis of Radio Interference Profiles in Non-Conventional High Voltage Transmission Lines

In this work, the Radio Interference (RI) profiles of conventional and non-conventional transmission lines are calculated and compared. In this context we refer to nonconventional lines as those such as hybrid configurations (AC/DC) and HSIL lines with asymmetric conductor bundles. The voltage gradient has been evaluated using two different approaches: a conventional approach based on the equivalent capacitance of the conductor bundle and simulations based on the finite element method (FEM). The computation of RI profiles is carried out by applying empirical formulas developed by different research groups. At the end, the RI profiles are analyzed to determine which line configurations fulfill the limits established in the standards.
