Study on Influencing Factors of Transmission Line Lightning Overvoltage with Impulse Corona

In view of the problem that the lightning overvoltage generated by lightning strikes on transmission lines is too large, causing instability in the lines, this paper analyzes the influencing factors of lightning overvoltage on tower tops and conductors by establishing a 500 kV transmission line lightning strike simulation model considering impulse corona. This analysis holds significant implications for enhancing the lightning protection level of existing high-voltage transmission lines. The results indicate that the overvoltage results will be more accurate after considering impulse corona, soil resistivity, tower height and the sag of transmission lines have a significant impact on counterattack lightning overvoltage, while whether overhead ground wires are at the same height have little to no effect on lightning overvoltage on the lines.
