The Influence of Ocean Wave Fluctuations on The Electric Field Intensity of Offshore Floating Overhead Transmission Lines

Submarine cables are widely used in marine renewable energy access nowadays. However, the cost of submarine cables is expensive, they are difficult to repair and difficult to transmit electric energy when the distance is long. Due to the advantages of offshore floating overhead conductor transmission technology, such as greatly reducing installation and maintenance costs and long enough transmission distance, it has gradually attracted people’s attention. In order to determine the appropriate conductor installation height, phaseto-phase spacing and other design issues of offshore overhead transmission lines, it is necessary to study the electric field distribution of the lines. The influence of wave fluctuation amplitudes and angles on the electric field intensity should be considered first. In this paper, the electric field calculation model of 110 kV overhead transmission lines considering wave fluctuations is established by using three-dimensional finite element method, and the influence of different wave fluctuation amplitudes and angles on the electric field intensity on the surface of transmission lines and above the sea is analyzed. The results can provide reference for the design of offshore floating overhead transmission lines.
