Advantages of the application of the UHF method for PD measurements in HV GIS, cables and power transformers

This paper describes the advantages of the application of the ultra-high-frequency method for measuring the electric field generated by partial discharges (PD). It is a generally recognized method for measuring PD in high-voltage gas switchgear and is increasingly used to measure PD in transformers and power cables. Field measurement examples are shown for the above-mentioned high-voltage electrical equipment.
