Simulation of the Effect of Fiber Impurity Particles on Streamer Branching in Natural Ester Insulating Oil

In this study, the finite element simulation method is used to establish an improved streamer discharge model taking into account the influence of fiber impurity particles in the basic streamer discharge model. A simulation study of the streamer discharge of natural ester insulating oil under the influence of fiber particles is carried out, and the results are analyzed. The simulation results show that by introducing the source term of the fiber particle barrier effect into the basic streamer discharge model equation, the streamer branches of the upgraded model simulation results are significantly increased, and the development speed of the z-axis main streamer is relatively slowed down. This phenomenon indicates that when the development process of streamer in natural ester insulating oil encounters fiber particles with large differences in dielectric constant, the morphology and development speed of the whole streamer will change significantly.
