The Application of VR/AR Technology in Enhancing the Emotional Experiences of College Students in ACG Exhibition Tourism

In recent years, the animation industry has been deeply integrated with the tourism industry. Anime, Comic and Games (ACG) culture is widely used in the tourism scene. New businesses formats such as ACG exhibitions or ACG carnivals, peripheral products and guest meet-and-greets are gradually appearing and gaining popularity. Furthermore, as cultural receivers and disseminators, the ACG community has started to garner scholarly attention, resulting in an increase in the appeal of youth subcultures. It was observed that the process of animation exhibition tourism reflects an obvious tendency towards mediatization, involving deep psychological motivations and related behavioural performance. This study aims to investigate the application of VR/AR technology in enhancing the psychological and emotional experience of college students in comic exhibition tourism. Drawing on a mediated perspective and utilizing relevant theories of media pilgrimage for explanation and discourse, the research employs semi-structured interviews and participatory observation methods to delve into aspects such as the psychological motivations and touring experiences of ACG exhibition tourism.
