Optimization and application of reverberation sampling scheme in music recording

In daily music recording practice, recordist may encounter problems such as the inaccurate positioning of the reverberation microphone, poor reverberation recorded by the reverberation microphone, and inability to hang the reverberation microphone in the hall. For these problems, this paper explores the optimization and application of reverb sampling scheme in music recording. This experiment was conducted in the Concert Hall of the National Center for the Performing Arts. First, the reverberation sample of the concert hall was created. Then, an experiment was conducted to optimize the reverberation sampling scheme. Finally, the optimized reverberation sampling scheme was applied to solve the problem of using reverberation sampling to replace reverberation microphones in music recording practice. The results show that in music recording, the ambient reverberation, produced by reverberation sampling, can be used to replace the ambient reverberation picked up by reverberation microphone, and the reverberation auditory sense of both is nearly the same. Meanwhile, the reverberation sampling of different representative points can be used to provide a variety of reverberation auditory senses for the sound mix.
