Diabetes prediction with the concept of AADE7 behavior using machine learning approach

The human body, much like a machine, requires regular maintenance to function properly. However, due to certain detrimental habits, human body is susceptible to diseases such as diabetes, which can affect individuals from age 18 onward. Diabetes has numerous causes and effects, which can vary among healthcare professionals. The American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) has proposed seven self-care behaviors, collectively known as AADE7 for effective diabetes management. These guidelines not only offer preventive measures but also suggest ways to manage the disease if one is already affected. This research study analyzes the Indian Pima Diabetes dataset using Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Naive Bayes algorithms to predict diabetes. The outcomes of this approach are evaluated using a confusion matrix and other performance metrics.
