A Review: Complete Analysis of the Cache Architecture for Better Performance

Cache memory has a significant role in the any computer device, it has an impact on performance of system. Furthermore, the latest computer devices are well designed to run any kind of applications smoothly and memory protractive. So many personal computers are taken leverage of controlling and interfering system in terms of improvement. As it is aware that without memory, the device cannot perform any tasks, similarly cache memory plays vital role in any memory hierarchy system. Since the speed of the computer processor and memory is drastically increasing, there is also a crisis to increase the speed of cache memory. Cache memory is a high-speed and small-sized type of volatile computer memory which serves as a bridge between the computer's main memory and the central processing unit. It is designed to store frequently accessed data and instructions, improving overall system performance by reducing the time it takes for the CPU (Central Processing Unit) to access this information. This study firstly reviews the proposed architectures with the improved techniques and secondly, the study focuses on the cache memory mechanism and optimizing configuration of cache to smooth running an application and for better performance and finally compares the cases in terms of speed, performance and scalability of cache memory to the main memory.
