Design and Modelling of MPPT Controller using Fuzzy Logic

This research paper introduces a simulation model of a fuzzy logic-based Peak Power Point Tracking controller utilizing a boost converter to optimize energy yield in standalone photovoltaic systems. The fuzzy logic-based controller is designed to dynamically rearrange the input impedance of the boost converter, verify the PV array consistently conduct at its peak power point despite varying conditions. The proposed FLC method is evaluated in MATLAB/Simulink and demonstrates superior execution in terms of rise-time, peak time, settling-time, and the stability of voltage, power, and current values compared to conventional and fixed-parameter techniques. By lowering oscillations around the MPP and enabling faster and more stable peak power tracking, the fuzzy logic-based approach enhances the overall effectiveness and reliability of the SPV system. This research paper provides valuable insights into the practical implementation and advantages of using fuzzy logic for MPPT in PV arrays, highlighting its potential to enhance the performance and reliability of photovoltaic power systems.
