Design and Implementation of a Smart Turmeric Farming Assistance System: Enhancing Productivity and Sustainability Through Technology

This paper presents the design and implementation strategy of a Smart Turmeric Farming Assistance System (STFAS) aimed at enhancing productivity and sustainability in turmeric cultivation. A critical function in the agriculture sector is disease identification. Monitoring such crops is essential because turmeric is a rhizomatous crop with well- established medicinal benefits. Most commonly, leaf spots and leaf blotches affect turmeric leaves are identified by using Deep Learning Algorithm CNN classifier is used to classify the feature extracted images. By training CNNs using annotated turmeric crop photos, the model can learn to distinguish between healthy and diseased plants, allowing for more precise disease identification. The system sprays fertilizer on diseased plants based on their classification. CNNs enable the automaticdetection of turmeric crop diseases, minimizing the need for physical inspection and labour-intensive field surveys. This automation simplifies the monitoring process, enabling the speedy and efficient detection of unhealthy areas over huge agricultural landscapes.
