Implementation of the Hybrid Base ABR Algorithm in Named Data Networking Based Video Streaming System

This study implements the Hybrid Base algorithm in Named Data Networking (NDN) to enhance video streaming performance and user experience (Quality of Experience, QoE). By combining features from Buffer Base and Throughput Base algorithms, Hybrid Base optimizes adaptive video playback quality, minimizing latency and maximizing bandwidth utilization. Comparative experiments with existing Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR) algorithms demonstrate Hybrid Base’s superior performance in video quality, network efficiency, and playback consistency within NDN architecture. Key metrics affirm Hybrid Base’s strengths: high resolution (1920x1080), peak estimated bandwidth (6145 kbps), and minimal buffering time (2.60 seconds), establishing it as the optimal choice for NDN-based video streaming applications.
