Development of Li-Ion Battery Emulator focusing on Transient Responses using Bipolar Amplifier

The development of a new battery diagnostic system is challenging task due to multiple components i.e., complexity level, SoH and SoC level, computational power and intensive time consuming due to experimental degradation life cycle during charging/discharging. A real-time hardware emulator that simulates not only the steady state but also the transient response of lithium-ion batteries is developed in this paper. The developed emulator uses a microcomputer-controlled bipolar power supply and can emulate any batteries by entering battery parameters.
