A Systematic PID Tuning for Enhanced Performance in a Wind Turbine Systems

The escalating need for electricity in today’s society is propelled by a rising dependence on electronic gadgets, industrial operations, and the expanding need for Renewable Energy (RE) sources. Electricity is generated using various renewable systems like wind turbines (WT), which convert the wind’s kinetic energy into mechanical energy. The current research adjusts the output frequency of a Wind Turbine (WT) driven Self-Excited Induction Generator (SEIG) that generates a static load. This paper delves into the embedding of the PID controller, considering the safety and other parameters by stabilizing torque and power through a change in pitch angle or a blade speed angle value of wind turbines. The Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller is also utilized to regulate frequency and control the speed of the turbine rotor. The MATLAB-Simulink simulates the proposed speed control systems block diagram, comprising a controller and stabilization systems. For a 4.974 KW power, the 0.01021 Nm is obtained with a power coefficient of 0.209./
