Dynamic Speed Control of Induction Motors Employing MPFC and V/f Techniques

Induction motors are indispensable in diverse industrial applications owing to their robust construction, high efficiency, reliability, and favorable speed-torque characteristics. Effective speed control is paramount for optimal performance in both constant and variable speed applications. Traditional methods like field-oriented control (FOC) have significantly advanced motor speed control using pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques, often employing Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) for switching.This paper discuses about a novel approach titled "Dynamic Speed Control of Induction Motors Employing Model Predictive Flux Control (MPFC) and Volts by Frequency (V/f) Techniques." It explores the integration of MPFC with V/F control to enhance dynamic response and efficiency. The V/F control method maintains a constant voltage-to-frequency ratio, ensuring stable motor operation across various speeds.By combining MPFC and V/F control, the study aims to achieve superior speed regulation, enhanced performance, and increased reliability in induction motor applications. Comprehensive analysis and simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of this integrated approach in various operational scenarios. The inclusion of MPFC enhances the dynamic response and efficiency by predicting future states and optimizing control actions.
