Digital Platform For Anti Icing System Design And Certification

With rapid advancements in battery technologies, airborne vehicles and e-mobility have been disrupted. Nevertheless, basic flying and certification requirements remain the same. It is essential to have methods, approaches, and simulations in place to design e-flying machines that meet or exceed aviation regulations. Objective of this paper is to discuss:•Aviation requirements and regulations of anti-icing systems.•Design principles behind an airplane anti-icing system.•Approach to simulate and verify anti-icing system of an electrified airplane.•Conceptual architecture for a digital platform which would leverage modeling and simulation of Anti-icing suite.•Adoption of digital innovations like AI/ML to shorten the design cycle and achieve continuous product improvement.
