Radiation Pattern Analysis of the Pentagram Array

An antenna array is used to solve the problem of both the gain and directivity weaknesses of a single antenna. It describes the technical process for addressing the wave interference phenomenon by integrating the radiated field of a number of isotropic antennas. Linear, circular, triangular, and rectangular are common geometries used in the formation of the antenna array. This paper searches for the theoretical and computational aspects of a specific model of the pentagram antenna array geometry. The conceptions are only demonstrated and examined based on the arrangement and phase of the elements in the antenna array. The discussed notions are the number of elements, array factor, radiation pattern, beam width, directivity, and grating lobes. The array provided five main lobes with the same gain and a bidirectional radiation pattern for different element spacing under a single frequency scenario. The small array produced high directivity and gain with narrower main lobes. For better performance, suitable element spacing is required to minimize sidelobes. The results are presented in the analyzed simulation.
