Abstract:

In this work, A broadband multifunctional metasurface with amplitude and phase tunable is proposed. The element consists of two split ring patches, a ground plane, a radial stub and two-layer dielectrics. The split ring patches with two PIN diodes achieve stable phase difference between two states. The reflectivity of the metasurface can be dynamically controlled by changing the bias voltage applied on the radial stub. The element achieves a 1 bit phase shift from 7.2 to 8.8GHz within 180°±37°. Moreover, the metasurface achieves adjustable reflection amplitude from near-unity reflection to less than −10dB from 6.8 to 17.2GHz by adjusting the bias voltage of the designed element.
