Research on Compensation Methods for Planar Near-Field Probe Based on Bipolar Square Wave-Guide

A compensation technique for planar near-field probes based on dual polarized square wave-guide is researched, In the first place, the compensation formula called theoretical probe pattern compensation method for square probe compensation pattern is derived. Then, a correction of the planar near-field transformation algorithm is completed using the far-field pattern of the dual polarization probe measured in the microwave darkroom. Finally, the compensation algorithms are validated with a planar near-field the antenna testing system. The algorithm has a high testing accuracy by comparing non probe compensation, theoretical probe pattern compensation, and measured probe pattern compensation.
