Wideband reconfigurable bow-tie metasurface design for focusing

This paper presents a wideband reconfigurable metasurface design with operating frequency set at 6 GHz by using PIN diode. When the external voltage control diode is switched on or cut off, the reflection phase of the structure presents a phase difference of 180°, with low reflection loss, and the relative bandwidth can reach 45%, with broadband characteristics. By controlling the reflection phase of different regions of the metasurface, near-field focusing can be achieved, and the focus position can be adjusted.
