Graphene-Based Metasurface for Full-space Terahertz Wave Manipulation

The utilization of metasurfaces to modulate electromagnetic waves in the terahertz (THz) band, especially the phase modulation of electromagnetic waves has attracted much attention. In this paper, a graphene meta-atom that can simultaneously manipulate the transmitted and reflected waves at the same frequency is designed. Graphene is a two-dimensional material with excellent electrical properties, and its conductivity can be changed by adjusting the applied electric field or voltage, thus realizing the dynamic regulation of electromagnetic wave amplitude and phase. According to the generalized Snell's law, the graphene metasurface array have been designed, which can achieve the full-space modulation of THz waves.
