A Review of Integrating Digital Twin Technology to Integrated Software Change Control Management: Six Sigma Practice and Approach

Digital Twin Technology (DTT) landscape has been an evolving and growing trend in the past decade sweeping industries around the world and the technology(ies) improving organizations’ workflows, services, products and processes. Other than double the benefits and business possibilities, digital twin (DT) impact on sustainability varies creating a greener future by reduces waste, carbon emissions and make things more energy efficient. As such, many top industries are exploring DT for industry insight for simulation model bridging the gaps in DT understanding, adoption and usage by eliminating internal misunderstandings, disconnects and departmental silos especially in the Manufacturing and "Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC)" industry. However, the adoption, application and impact of DTT in the software industry is still limited and is a concern among the software and hardware professionals. Thus, this paper aims to analyse the feasibility adoption and implementation of digital twin in the software quality assurance and control (SQAC) industry for better software change control management in the context of IT Project Management. To alleviate this study, a DT framework and a collective of literature reviews analysis will be benchmarked to explore the feasibility of digital twin technology in the software process improvements (SPIs) to better facilitate project managers integrating change control management (ICCM) in compliance to quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) towards achieving service level agreement (SLA). As a result, this study aims to explore the potential of digital twin in the change control management to achieve downtime reduction, operational efficiency, service/product/process improvements and improve customer experience.
