Dynamic Modeling and Analysis of Vehicle-Track–Bridge Coupled System for Superconducting EDS Train

The superconducting electrodynamic suspension (EDS) train is the only high-speed manned transportation system that can reach 600 km/h, bringing into focus on its dynamic performance and ride quality in recent years. However, there has been little research that elucidated the coupling mechanisms among the vehicle, track, and bridge, which makes the accurate characterization and reliable evaluation of dynamic performance difficult. In this article, the 66-degree-of-freedom (DOF) numerical dynamic model of the EDS train is built. Afterward, electromagnetic forces are calculated and the relationship between the electromagnetic forces and the attitude of superconducting magnet (SCM) unit is described with the response surface method (RSM) and its reliability is validated. Subsequently, the numerical model of the bridge is established. Using electromagnetic forces to connect vehicle and bridge, the vehicle-track–bridge coupled EDS system was eventually built. By means of these, the results illustrate that the resonance occurs mainly in the range of 350–400 km/h and benefits from the weak coupled relationship between vehicle and bridge, the coupled vibration is not prominent. These results confirm the potential of EDS in the high-speed transit field and a useful reference is provided for its engineering application.
