A Fractal Prediction Method for Multiband Patch Antenna Based on Quasi-Mandelbrot Fractal Geometry

This paper introduces a new fractal geometric structure called the quasi-Mandelbrot geometry which can be used in the design of microstrip patch antennas. Based on the characteristic of fractal geometries and basic principle of fractal antenna design, this paper proposes a fractal prediction method that can predict the resonant frequency of quasi-Mandelbrot patch antenna and make a comparison for their multiband performances. The introduction of the quasi-Mandelbrot set provides a new approach for designing multiband antennas. This approach only relies on the quasi-Mandelbrot patch with a single connectivity and single feed point and can easily achieve a multiband performance with up to 6 bands.
