An Automatized Simulation Method for Design of Mandelbrot Fractal Antenna

With the fast development of science technology, various simulation software has emerged, which help researchers to design antennas with complex structures, such as geometries based on Mandelbrot fractal. However, obtaining the structure can be troublesome. Although some software has published its API such as Ansys-HFSS, the process of coding the script can be time-consuming and the script still has to be run manually. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed to edit the script in Matlab, which greatly saves time. We further proposed to use Python to control the main simulation procedure, including invoking MATLAB functions to generate HFSS scripts, running the script automatically, starting analysis and optimization, and adjusting parameters according to data output automatically. In this way, we managed to design antennas, especially those with complex structures, with high efficiency.
