Abstract:
In this paper we propose a novel “chess board” spectrum division technique. This technique enables increasing range resolution by using multiple channels with different LO frequencies. In the proposed system we demonstrate 200 GHz system bandwidth. Block schemes for transceivers with different signal waveforms (PMCW, OFDM) are shown. Both waveforms are suitable for proposed modulation technique and can achieve higher range resolution. Obtained that OFDM signal has significant better result in a side lobe level after first matched filtration, but has more complex transmitter part. Proposed frequency doubler at the end of transmitter makes receiver architecture identical for both signal waveform. Maximum allowed noise distribution along frequency is estimated. Future problems with the Doppler frequency shift are considered, regarding to the current existing frequency doubler schemes.
