Piecewise Control Based on Particle Swarm Optimization for Temperature of Greenhouse

Temperature is one of the key factors in modern greenhouse. Intelligent temperature control faces significant challenges due to disturbances from seasonal and diurnal temperature fluctuations. In view of this, a piecewise control method based on particle swarm optimization(PSO) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the model of temperature stage control is established according to the correlation between environmental factors and temperature. Secondly, a piecewise optimization method based on PSO is designed to minimize the temperature deviation. Compared with experience control, proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control and proportional control, the proposed method has the advantages of fast response and small overshoot through simulation of different scenarios. In addition, the proposed method achieves the best performance under seasonal temperature difference disturbance, indicating that it has great robustness.
