Control of Lossy Networked Systems with Independent Sampling Errors and Random Delays

In this article, the control issue is investigated for a class of lossy networked systems with random sampling errors and transmission delays. The relationship between sampling er-rors and transmission delays is characterized by two independent random sequences. Firstly, we establish a closed-loop discrete-time framework for a linear networked system through a discrete-time approach. Subsequently, by the reduced-order confluent Vandermonde matrix approach, the law of total expectation and Kronecker product operation, the expectation operation of a nonlinear and stochastic coupling term is decoupled and then a controller is designed such that the exponential mean-square stability of resulting discrete-time system is guaranteed. Finally, a numerical example and a practical example are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the controller design approach.
