A Method for Evaluating the Wildfire Risk Level of Distribution Lines Based on AHP and EWM

Distribution lines often extend through forested areas, where line failures can occasionally lead to forest fires. Therefore, conducting wildfire risk assessments for power line corridors is crucial for wildfire prevention and control. Currently, there are few studies on assessing wildfire risk levels in distribution line corridors, and existing methods mainly rely on subjective weight distribution. To address these shortcomings, this paper proposes a new assessment method that combines both subjective and objective weights using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Entropy Weight Method (EWM). This method is based on the operation and maintenance monitoring data of a power grid in Liangshan, Sichuan Province, China, and considers factors such as topography, meteorology, combustible materials, and line status. The proposed wildfire risk level assessment method integrates AHP and EWM to provide a comprehensive evaluation. The model is applied to a 10kV line, and ArcGIS is used for visualizing the fusion grading. The results indicate that most of the line falls within medium-risk and lower-risk areas, suggesting the line's overall risk status is satisfactory.
