Design and Control of Microturbine Generator Rectifier for Hybrid Electric Propulsion UAV

Compared to traditional electric drones, hybrid electric propulsion drones using turbine power generation have significantly improved endurance and payload capacity. The high-frequency AC power output from the turbine power generation system needs to be rectified before it can be used for propulsion and other onboard equipment. This article proposes a high-performance Microturbine Generator (MTG) rectifier based on a combination of diode rectifier bridge and boost/boost DCDC. This rectifier can achieve precise, efficient, and reliable control of MTG system output voltage, current, and power. Based on this rectifier, the MTG system can achieve generator speed control and engine generator joint control, which will greatly improves the operational stability and reliability of the system and significantly increasing fuel efficiency. The effectiveness of the proposed rectifier in the MTG system was verified through simulation.
