As information technology has been enabling services, the modern service industry, a cornerstone of the global economy, has driven development of the era of the service economy. According to the World Bank, since the 21

century, the service sector's share of global GDP has consistently been between 61% and 65%. “Everything as a service” has become a phenomenon in human society. Education on service science and engineering has been developed to cultivate more young people for the emerging service industry and service society.
