A Study of Resilience Profile of Firstyear Students During Hybrid Learning

Students are facing their own challenges during the transition and adaptation processes in their first year of study. Understanding of their resilience factors is seen as crucial to better understanding their adaptation skills during the firstyear study. This study aims to explore the resilience profile of the first-year students to remain persistent and survive during the transition processes. The Cognitive-Afective-Conative Questionnaire (CACQ) instrument was distributed among first year students involving eight faculties at a Malaysian university. The quantitative data were analysed using Statistical Package Social Science (SPSS) version 22.0, according to the mean score, and standard deviation. The findings found a high level of mean score for the entire students with no-significant differences in the resilient profile across the fields of studies. This study highlights the importance of fostering students’ desire, resourcefulness, initiative, and persistence to ensure study success of students in the context of higher education study.
