Barriers to Students' Access to Stem Education in the Education System in Vietnam

The necessity of STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is becoming increasingly undeniable in the educational systems of many countries, seen as a crucial driving force for economic and technological development. Applying STEM education to the education system will encourage innovation in problemsolving skills and critical thinking among students, but the actual implementation poses many difficulties and challenges, especially for students in the education system in Vietnam.Using appropriate research methods, this study focuses on analyzing and evaluating the barriers to students' access to STEM education in Vietnam. The study identifies several main barriers to STEM education, including limitations in educational resources, lack of academic support, bias and discrimination, soft skills and personal development, along insufficient career information and guidance. By elucidating these barriers, the results of the study will provide information to policymakers, teachers, and stakeholders about the challenges that students face when accessing STEM education in the Vietnamese education system. Concurrently, this study makes a significant contribution towards fostering a just and excellent STEM educational atmosphere, guaranteeing equal opportunities for every pupil to participate in STEM education.
