Development of English Reading Strategies through Collaborative Learning and Blended Learning for English Teaching Program Students, Rajabhat Universities

To develop the ability in English reading, using reading strategies could support students read more effectively, develop comprehension, and make students read English quickly and effectively. To develop ability of reading, cooperative learning and blended learning could enhance the proficiency with reading skills. The objectives of this study were 1) to study the ability in using reading strategies in English reading of English Teaching Program students and 2) to compare learning achievement of English Teaching Program students before and after using collaborative learning and blended learning. The sampling of this study was 28 first-year students in English Teaching Program, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University. The research instruments were lesson plans, videos, testes, English critical reading abilities assessment form. The statistics used in this study were Means and Standard Deviation (S.D.). The results of the study showed that the average of the ability in using reading strategies was at good level and learning achievement of English Teaching Program students after using collaborative learning and blended learning was higher than before learning with the statistically significant at the .05 level.
