The Design and Construction of an IoT Learning Board Using ESP32 and FPGA

This project develops an innovative educational board for learning about the Internet of Things (IoT), with a strong focus on enhancing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. It combines an ESP32 chip for connectivity with a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) for flexible hardware design, creating a powerful tool for hands-on learning. The team refined the board through several prototypes to optimize it to meet the requirements and possible price. This unique combination allows students to explore real-world applications of STEM principles, particularly in hardware/software codesign and IoT technologies. Plans include expanding IoT features and investigating edge computing, further broadening its STEM applications. The primary goal is to provide educators and students with a practical platform to engage with advanced computer science, electrical engineering, and IoT concepts. By offering hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology, this project aims to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals and prepare them for careers in the rapidly evolving tech industry. This innovative approach to STEM education can help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills in IoT and related fields.
