A Fuzzy-Based Active Control Support Strategy for Dynamic Supply Networks Under Bullwhip Effect

At the operational decision-making level, this paper focuses on a class of process-based supply networks (PSNs), from an interconnected large-scale system perspective, and employs a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy-based active control strategy for reducing the bullwhip effect (BE). First, both BE operational causes (OC) and behavioral causes (BC) are incorporated into the differential equation framework, such that the BE quantification is more general than the existing results with only one of them. Then, the T-S fuzzy modeling is introduced to deal with nonlinear activities in the operation. Moreover, the fuzzy control strategy is presented to actively attenuate the BE. The provided fuzzy active strategy, using delivery rate regulation experience, has the potential to improve the BE attenuation than passive design. Finally, simulation results examine the effectiveness of the proposed active strategy.
