Adaptive Oxygen Excess Ratio Regulation of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell

The problem of adaptive oxygen excess ratio (OER) regulation of proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is investigated in this paper. A dynamic model for OER regulation is established in which the uncertainty of the stack current is considered. Based on the dynamic model, an adaptive OER regulator is designed to attenuate the influence from the uncertainty of the stack current to the regulation accuracy of the OER. The validation of the proposed regulator is verified through numerical simulation under two working conditions, and the simulation results shows that the OER can be regulated into a neighborhood of its desired value.
