Torque Measurement and Intelligent Identification for CMG Using Flip Method

This paper addresses the torque measurement and identification problem for control moment gyroscope (CMG) of spacecraft. With the help of the proposed flip method and the derivation of CMG model, this study first establishes a three-axis torque output model and an identification model for error parameters. Then, an online identification method using least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) is introduced based on the Leave-one-out Cross-Validation (LOO-CV) algorithm. Finally, online compensation for CMG output torque is performed based on the error identification results. Simulation and test results show that the proposed online identification method and experimental system theoretically possess a high-precision capability for CMG torque measurement.
