Virtual Inertial Control of Dual Active Bridge Converters for Power Support at Energy Storage Unit

The Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converter has been widely applied in DC systems. To address the issue of bus voltage fluctuations caused by power changes in DC systems, this paper improves upon the conventional virtual DC machine (VDCM) control strategy. The enhancement involves modifying the calculation of power differences and introducing a voltage regulation loop for power compensation. Propose an additional power-virtual DC machine control (APVDCM), enabling it to provide more voltage regulation power after a load disturbance. The improved control strategy is then applied to the DAB converter of an energy storage unit and validated through simulation.
