Direct Torque Control of Dual Three Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Based on Sliding Mode Variable Structure

Large output torque, high fault tolerance, and low torque pulsation are the benefits of the multi-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor over the conventional three-phase model. This work examines the direct torque control in detail using a dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor as the research subject. By including the sliding film control approach, the issues of torque pulsation and magnetic chain in the direct torque control of a dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor are resolved. The mathematical models of sliding mode control-based direct torque control and conventional direct torque control are established using Matlab/Simulink, and the models’ simulation outcomes are compared and examined.
